Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy will join his hometown club Cardiff City on a season-long loan, the club have confirmed.
The manager of the Eastlands club, Roberto Mancini, had previously deemed the hitman as excess baggage and dropped him from his Europa League squad.
In addition to the European snub, the forward was given a broad hint when the Italian decided to omit him from the 25-man squad for the Premier League.
In the meantime, Goal.com UK exclusively revealed that Cardiff had stepped up their chase by putting together a deal that would make the forward the highest paid player in the Championship.
Now the Eastlands club have released a statement that reads: "Manchester City can confirm that Craig Bellamy has agreed to join Championship club Cardiff City on a season-long loan.
